What is the SAVI Skills Passport?

Last reviewed: 21 September 2026

The SAVI Skills Passport is a learner-facing record of course completions and Open Badges 2.0 issued by SAVI Credentials. It shows training evidence for SAVI School and SAVI Workplace learning. It is not a government identity document, not an Ofqual-regulated qualification, and not proof of workplace competence on its own.

SAVI Education is the learning platform. SAVI Credentials is the credential function. The Skills Passport is the learner record. None of these is a regulated qualification.

What is the SAVI Skills Passport?

It is a personal record of SAVI-issued learning evidence: course completions, assessments where used, and Open Badges 2.0. Learners sign in at /passport to view their own record. Employers can verify a badge from a public verification link without signing in as the learner.

What information does it contain?

Where issued, the passport can show learner identity used for the account, completed enrolments, in-progress courses, issued badges, and related skills labels. It stores training evidence for SAVI learning, not a full HR file or right-to-work check.

Who issues the evidence?

SAVI Credentials, a function of SAVI Education operated by AI Build Group Ltd, issues the badges and completion records. Hosting on savi.education does not make SAVI an exam board or a regulated awarding organisation.

How can employers verify it?

Anyone with a verification URL ending /badges/verify/{assertionId} can check whether a badge is valid or revoked without signing in as the learner. Organisation consoles can also show completions for people in that organisation.

What is the difference between completion, assessment, certificate, badge and competence?

Completion means the learner finished the published SAVI course or lesson. Assessment means a marked check was used where the course includes one. A certificate is a completion record for that course. A badge is a verifiable Open Badges 2.0 assertion. Competence is a workplace judgement that still needs risk assessment, supervision and site-specific information — a passport entry is not that judgement.

Can credentials expire?

A SAVI Credential remains a record of learning completed on a stated date unless that badge itself states an expiry. Employers may still require repeat training under their own rules.

Can credentials be revoked?

Yes. A verification page can show a badge as revoked. Revocation is an issuer action on that assertion; it does not rewrite the historical fact that learning was recorded.

Does it use Open Badges, and which version?

Yes. SAVI Credentials hosts Open Badges 2.0 JSON for issuer, badge class and assertion documents. Compatibility with later Open Badges versions is not claimed here.

How is learner privacy handled?

The signed-in passport is the learner’s own record. Public verification links show badge validity without requiring the learner password. Personal information is handled under the SAVI privacy notice.
