SAVI Workplace

Single Sign in and directory sync

Last reviewed:

SAVI Workplace can support organisation sign-in through Microsoft Entra or Google Workspace and user provisioning through SCIM 2.0. These are optional administrator-controlled integrations, not features enabled automatically for every organisation. Contact SAVI to discuss configuration and eligibility before expecting directory sign-in or synchronisation to work.

How does single sign-in work?

When an organisation turns it on, staff can sign in to SAVI Workplace with their Microsoft Entra or Google Workspace account. Until that option is on, people keep signing in with the email and password on their SAVI account. Company directory sign-in does not replace that account, and it does not by itself assign courses or enrol anyone. The organisation has to ask SAVI before the option exists for its staff.

How does directory synchronisation work?

Directory synchronisation uses SCIM 2.0 with Microsoft Entra or Google Workspace. It can keep people and groups in step with the directory the organisation already manages. SAVI does not enable the SCIM endpoint for every customer. The endpoint stays off until the organisation flag is on, so a directory change elsewhere does not create or remove SAVI access on its own.

How can my organisation enable these features?

Neither single sign-in nor directory synchronisation is enabled by default. An authorised administrator agrees the identity provider, the directory, and who may configure them, and SAVI then enables the organisation flag. Until that configuration is finished, staff use the sign-in method already on their account. Sending an enquiry does not switch either feature on, and it does not set a date for the change.
